Komadori Photography 駒鳥
Thanks for coming to visit my gallery.
Photography has always been a part of my life in some form. I have wanted to freeze moments in my life to be able to remember and share them.
In the past few years my husband began pursuing his interest in videography. My hikes and jaunts with him from his pursuit renewed my enthusiasm. With his encouragement and the guidance of fellow photographers, I have endeavored to pursue the artistic side of photography. My primary interest is in landscape photography, but I also am drawn to photo journalistic style as well.
I was looking for a name to represent myself and my photography. On a whim, I looked up the word for robin in Japanese and the result is the word komadori (駒鳥). In checking to see that komadori did actually mean robin, the alternate meaning of the kanji is 'frame of film.' I could think of nothing more suitable to represent my photographs and myself than Komadori Photography.
There are so many stories to tell with photos and I appreciate you listening to a few of mine. Feel free to contact me by email.
I currently am a hobbyist videographer and editor living in South Carolina. I've always had an interest in video and how it can be used for artistic expression. My first project, a 50th wedding anniversary dvd, inspired me to start working further with video media. Over the course of several years, I compiled various dvds for myself and friends. I transferred footage and clips to dvd, bought a video camera and enjoyed experimenting with technique. As I began to get more serious, I enlisted the help of a friend who is a semi-pro photographer. With his guidance, I learned a great deal about photographic technique and, in turn, adjusted and applied that knowledge to video. It also confirmed, in working with him, that as much as I liked photography, moving images were my passion.
After several more projects for myself and friends, I set a goal. I wanted a to get a HD camera and to make a video of all the waterfalls I had visited. Since that time, I have strived to learn more about filming and editing to improve my skills. So now, after some years, I humbly submit my offerings to you in hope that they convey the beauty that is around us. Feel free to contact me by email.
